GateAccess

Setup

From your authorised access link to deliberate operation: set up GateAccess step by step.

Updated: 2 November 2026

Check the requirements

GateAccess requires iOS 27 or later, an internet connection and a valid access link for the compatible DoorGateway at leipzig.fner.net. Automatic shared storage requires iCloud Drive. CarPlay operation requires a compatible vehicle.

Add and arrange accesses

Enter a unique name and the access link supplied by the operator. Leaving the link field validates the access and loads its icon. Store up to eight accesses and use “Change order” to arrange them. The exact name appears on the CarPlay card. The question mark next to the trash explains how names work.

Set up Siri and Shortcuts

The app’s “Open access” action requires the access name. Enter the same name shown on the card; case does not matter. A custom Shortcut can contain this single action without storing a secret link. Several Shortcuts with different Siri names can open the same access. After renaming an access, update its name in the corresponding Shortcuts too. The appropriate iOS and file permissions are still required.

Set up separately supplied independent Shortcuts

These Shortcuts use the same access list and need their own one-time setup.

  1. First import “Zugang öffnen” and “Zugang einrichten”, keeping these names. In the first folder picker of each Shortcut, select the same iCloud Drive → Gate Access folder, not the JSON file.
  2. Import the opening and setup Shortcuts you want to use. Open each in the editor and use Apple’s picker in the Run Shortcut action to select the installed target: “Zugang öffnen” for opening Shortcuts, or “Zugang einrichten” for setup Shortcuts. This selector is initially empty in the general templates.
  3. In the text field of each opening Shortcut, enter the access name used in the app. Then close the editor.

These additional import steps are not needed for a Shortcut that uses the app’s native “Open access” action.

Operate deliberately and check feedback

Select an access card in CarPlay or use the opening action. “Test” on iPhone also sends a real opening command. The two success sounds represent a confirmed relay impulse and its confirmed end. They do not report the mechanical gate position. Errors use a different sound pattern.

Remove an entry or revoke permission

Confirm the trash button to remove only this access. Other entries keep their order. This does not revoke server permissions or delete existing Shortcuts or other file copies. A Shortcut referencing a removed access name reports an error. Contact the operator to revoke access.

Door feedback

For doors, the end of the relay cycle is acknowledged with “The door was released.” The buzzer has already stopped; this does not mean that the door is still released or mechanically open. “Door release was not confirmed.” indicates an uncertain outcome. “Door release command not sent.” indicates an unsent release command.
